True Grit Cheese Crisps

Crispy, cheesy, and packed with bold flavor, these True Grit Cheese Crisps are the perfect snack, appetizer, or topping for soups and salads. Made with a blend of our punchy True Grit Cheddar and classic Parmesan Reggiano, each crisp is seasoned with fragrant Italian herbs for an irresistible bite. Ingredients
- 150g Grated Mature Cheddar (we recommend True Grit)
- 150g Grated Parmesan Reggiano
- 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Mix - usually consists of basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram use any combination of the above if you cannot find Italian seasoning mix
Instructions
Step 1:
Pre heat oven
Pre heat oven to 220c/fan 200c/gas 7. On a baking sheet pray with cooking oil and then top with greaseproof paper.
Step 2:
Mix the cheeses and seasoning
Combine equal quantities of mature cheddar (we chose our True Grit) with Parmesan Reggiano in a mixing bowl and combine with the Italian seasoning.
Step 3:
Prepare for baking
Using a tablespoon spoon the mixture onto a baking sheet. Leave even spacing between each mound of cheese as these spread a lot when in the oven.
Step 4:
Melt the cheese without browning
Bake for 6-10 minutes, watching carefully. You want the cheese to melt and just about stop bubbling. Do NOT let it brown though, as it will be bitter.
Time required: 6-10 minutes
Step 5:
Prepare and serve
Allow to cool slightly, remove from the baking sheet, and arrange on a plate. Serve.
